Welcome! I am Ms. Selak. I grew up in Southern California and graduated from Bishop Amat Memorial High School in 1997. I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a B.A. in History in 2008. I will graduate from Azusa Pacific University in 2011 with a teaching credential in both Social Sciences and English, as well as an M. Ed. with a concentration on digital teaching and learning. I am a teacher at Bishop Amat Memorial High School, the librarian, and Assistant IB Coordinator. I have been teaching at Bishop Amat since 2009. I love to be teaching students about history and government.   I also love to be in the library, assisting students with their study and research needs.  I strive to give each student the opportunity to achieve beyond their own expectations, provide access to challenging content and the opportunity to demonstrate learning and achieve excellence.

When I'm not teaching or learning as a student at APU, I enjoy being at home with my husband of almost six years and my two dogs, Taylor and Gibson. We read, cook, watch movies, and spend time with friends as often as possible!

Students, I am excited to have you in my classroom and look forward to working with you this semester.  Let’s learn together.

Parents, I am honored to have the opportunity to teach your children.  Their success is very important to me.  Please feel free to communicate with me via telephone or email about any questions or concerns you may have throughout the semester.
