Classroom Policies and Procedures:
Students are expected to be constructive and positive in their relationships with other class members. Students are expected to maintain reasonable classroom decorum and adhere to the student code of conduct. We must respect the thoughts and opinions of others at all times.

Students must come to class prepared with the materials needed to complete assignments. Materials include textbook, notebook, black/blue pen, highlighter, binder paper, and outside reading materials. You must be in your seat by the second bell.

Late work will not be accepted. I distribute one late pass that students can use to turn in one late homework assignment for full credit. Choose wisely, as you only get one pass per semester.

Students who are absent will be given the same amount of days that they were absent to make up the work. It is the student's responsibility to discuss any missed homework assignments with Ms. Selak as soon as they return to school. Homework will be considered late if it is not turned in on the adjusted deadline.

Your success in this class is important. Frequent and open communication will go a long way to helping you achieve this goal. I check my e-mail and voicemail at least once daily; students and parents are encouraged to feel e-mail or call with any questions or comments. For in-person discussions, I am in the library from 7am-3:30pm. Please stop by to discuss any questions or concerns before school, during breaks or lunch, or after school.

Your grade is based upon an average derived from your tests, quizzes, assignment grades, and project. I update the online grade portal every week on Tuesdays. Please check your grades frequently, and feel free to discuss any questions or concerns you may have in this regards. Tests are closed book. No make-up quizzes are given. The lowest quiz grade at the end of the semester will be dropped.

Grading Policies:
The final grade is determined by the following factors:

        • Projects and Assignments: 40%
        • Tests: 30%
        • Quizzes: 20%
        • Final Exam: 10%
